Sunnerset Cocker Spaniels are proudly owned and bred by Sue and Roy Rihoy. They have been involved with Cocker Spaniels for 12 years and bred their first litter 10 years ago. They have a particular passion for Golden Cockers as you can see from this photo. Phoebe, Josh, Tia and Kate were bred by Sue & Roy, who only breed when they want a puppy for showing. Milly, who is the mother of Phoebe and grandmother to Josh and Tia & great-grandmother to Kate was the first dog Sue & Roy brought. They then mated her to a red/golden dog and kept Phoebe. Phoebe has had two litters one which produced all black puppies of which all were sold, and then nearly 7 1/2 years ago now she was mated too Lujesa Valorous of Solencia. From this mating Joshua and Tia were kept to carry on the Sunnerset line. Tia has done so well qualifying for Crufts at Southern Counties 2002 under Ed Simpson and then a few weeks later gaining her Kennel Club Stud book number at Paignton Championship Show under Sheila Sadler. Tia and Nicholas won the Junior Handlers Semi-Finals at Richmond Championship Show 2002, a very proud moment and placed 6th out of 34 at the 2003 Junior Handlers Semi's at Richmond. Tia has also won Best of Breed's and Group placings at local open shows in the Hampshire area but is now making way for her daughter Francine who is doing well in the show ring together, with her kennel mate Claudette and soon to be joined in the ring by Orla.
